ZAP the Blackstone

The year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Operation Zap 1972 when 10,000 volunteers came out and cleaned heavy debris ( furniture, tires, appliances, cars and even a school bus) from the banks of the Blackstone River. This year we hope to mobilize 10,000 + volunteers to join and help care and remove litter in the whole Blackstone watershed area.

Are you an experienced paddler? Join us for our On-the-Water Cleanup! Participants will be collecting garbage in the Red River from a canoe. You must be comfortable in a canoe and willing to get wet and dirty. Canoes, life jackets, and paddles are provided. A limited number of spots are available and pre-registration is required. Guadalupe River Fall Clean Up

Find out more »Jaime Zap[ata Boat Ramp and Brownsville Ship Channel Cleanup 09-10-22
The meeting point and headquarters for the cleanup will be at the Jaime Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp. We will be cleaning around the boat ramp and the area by the Brownsville Ship Channel. We will be cleaning the shoreline on foot and in the water by kayak and boat. All cleanup supplies, water, snacks, hotdogs, insect repellant, sunscreen, trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbers will be provided. There will be some giveaway items for the volunteers.

This annual trash sweep at the end of summer covers a 20+ mile stretch of the Clackamas River from Estacada to the confluence with the Willamette River in Oregon City. Join the Gallatin River Task Force the weekend of Sept 9th-11th for their annual Upper Gallatin River Cleanup. Supplies will be stationed at the Big Sky Community Park shed all weekend for teams to head out on the river when they please.
