4ocean Project Guatemala Ways To Fight Plastic Pollution

Beach Bouncer and Brute Boom being used by 4ocean in Guatemala

Elastec’s Beach Bouncer and Brute Boom barriers are being used by 4ocean to help control floating plastic trash and debris in their Guatemala project. 4ocean has been expanding its operations in Guatemala to access some of Central America’s most polluted rivers. Their mission is to help end the ocean plastic crisis and stop the inflow of plastic by changing consumption habits.

Elastec’s Beach Bouncer is a containment boom designed to deflect floating trash and debris, Sargassum, seagrass, and other invasive aquatic seaweeds. It is being used by many resorts to keep their beaches clean and help protect tourism and marine life. A new heavy-duty version, the Beach Bouncer XT, has recently been developed. The Elastec Brute Boom is a heavy-duty barrier designed for trash, litter, natural debris, and large floating objects in rivers, reservoirs, oceans, and lakes. It has been tested to a breaking strength of 60,000 lbs and is coupled with connection hardware with a 4.75 ton working load limit.
